To Volunteer
If you feel called to minister to the homeless through any of the opportunities listed below, please contact the Shelter Coordinator via one of the options on our Contact page. Holy Rosary Parish needs to run a background check on all shelter volunteers. Please download the background check form, print it, fill it out, and either drop it off at the Rectory or mail it using the address on our Contact page.
Transportation Team
Volunteers will transport the women to and from Holy Rosary in a van provided by Mount St. Vincent. Training is provided.
Overnight Team
A team of two volunteers supervise the women each night. Volunteers come at 8:30pm and expect to leave no later than 7am. Volunteers rotate and supervise one evening every few months. Volunteer training is provided. A voluntary support group may meet once a month to discuss experiences, field questions, etc.
Hospitality Team
Volunteers provide healthy evening snacks and/or portable "no-cook" breakfasts.
Supply Team
Volunteers procure personal toiletries and "to go" snacks and load them into Ziploc bags. Bedding will also be procured to replenish Noel House.
Leadership Team
Volunteers meet to provide direction, training, support, and problem-solving. They are responsible for promoting the program and in recruiting new volunteers.
